IEDRI Press

The press publishes peer reviewed and edited work on accessibility and design for themed experiences. Everything it releases will be free to read, download, and reuse.

Three Tracks

We currently plan to support three series for publication.

From conference critiques

Design Concepts Series

Designers and researchers bring a concept to the conference, present it for critique, then revise it. The strongest revisions are collected into a volume with the drawings, specifications, and test notes needed for someone else to build on the idea.

From conference workshops

Perspectives Series

Each volume takes a single topic, chosen in advance and worked through in a conference workshop. Participants and invited authors then develop the chapters, for a resulting volume of a range of voices in conversation with each other.

Individual submissions

Open Series

Individual research article submissions can be submitted to peer review and published independently. Selected articles will be invited to give an extended talk at the annual conference.

How we will publish

Free to read, free to publish in

Open access with no charge to authors and no charge to readers.

Accessible by default

Structured digital formats with real headings, described figures, and plain-language summaries, all produced while the text is being written.

Disabled authors first

Disabled authors and participatory teams are the people we most want to publish, and editorial support is available to first-time authors.

Publishing with us later

Submissions open with the first call for conference participation. If you are already working on something that fits either series, get in touch now, while there is still room to shape where it lands.
